Elementary I (6-9) Certification Program

Train to teach in a Montessori Lower Elementary (6-9 year olds) classroom.

Program Details

— eight weeks of in-person training with our experienced faculty over two summers and three additional weekend seminars, plus 3 on-site consultation visits, leading to Montessori certification through AMS as an Elementary I teacher

— Elementary I albums and materials, including large format charts for the Timeline of Life and Five Kingdom Classification

Dates

  • July 1st—August 2nd, 2024; November 1st-3rd, 2024; May 2nd-4th, 2025; June 23rd—July 11th, 2025; and May 1st-3rd, 2026.

Tuition and Fees

  • Application fee (non-refundable): $150

  • Tuition*: $8,900 (due in full by June 1st, or can be paid in two-parts — 60% before first summer, 40% before second summer, plus a 5% surcharge on total)

  • Discount: $350 (if paid in full 30 days before start of program)

  • Credentialing fees: $440

Elementary I-II (6-12) Certification Program in Two or Three Summers

Train to teach across the Montessori Elementary curriculum at multiple levels, either Lower El or Upper El classrooms.

Program Details

— twelve weeks of in-person training, combining the 6-9 schedule for the first two summers and then 9-12 schedule for the second half of the second or a third summer (which includes two Saturdays), and 4 additional weekend seminars, plus 3 on-site consultation visits, leading to Montessori certification through AMS as an Elementary I-II teacher

— full Elementary I and II albums and materials, including large format charts for the Timeline of Life and Five Kingdom Classification

Dates

  • July 1st—August 2nd, 2024; November 1st-3rd, 2024; May 2nd-4th, 2025; June 23rd—August 1st, 2025; November TBA, 2025; and May 1st-3rd, 2026.

Tuition and Fees

All tuition includes access to digital albums and digital materials designed for that level, instruction, mentoring, and consultation if listed. Additional required readings, supplies, as well as transportation, lodging, and meals are not included and are the responsibility of the adult learner. (Please take note that cohorts for previous summers filled early, so consider applying soon.)
